PHYSIOTHERAPY AND MOVEMENT SUPPORT

Move with greater strength, confidence and freedom.

Support shaped around what matters to you.

Everyone arrives with a different story. You may want to feel steadier on your feet, manage pain, rebuild confidence after surgery or simply keep doing the everyday activities that matter to you.

I offer physiotherapy, exercise classes and movement support shaped around your needs and abilities. My approach begins with listening, understanding what you would like to achieve and finding a way forward that feels manageable.

Explore the services below or contact me if you are unsure where to begin.

STRENGTH & BALANCE CLASSES

MY FLAGSHIP SERVICE
Build strength, balance and confidence.

GLA® Ireland is an exercise-and-education programme for people experiencing symptoms associated with hip or knee osteoarthritis.

The programme combines physiotherapist-supervised exercise with education about osteoarthritis and its management. Its purpose is to help people understand their condition, exercise appropriately and feel more confident using their joints during everyday activities.

The established GLA® Ireland programme includes supervised exercise and education delivered over a structured period.

What we work on

During the classes, we work on areas such as:

    • Balance and steadiness

    • Upper and lower body strength

    • Ankle, knee and hip mobility

    • Walking and functional movement

    • Endurance

    • Coordination

    • Confidence in everyday activities

Improving these areas can help you feel more capable in daily life and may help reduce your risk of falling.

A supportive way to exercise

Classes are kept small so that exercises can be adapted to different abilities. There is no pressure to keep up with anyone else, and you can work at a level that feels appropriate for you.

Alongside exercise, the classes offer encouragement, social connection and an opportunity to enjoy movement in a safe, positive environment.

If you are unsure whether a class would suit you, please contact me before booking.

GLA® IRELAND

HIP AND KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS
Move with greater confidence in everyday life.

My Strength & Balance classes are designed for adults who want to remain active, mobile and independent.

You may be worried about your balance, feel less steady than you once did or have lost confidence in certain movements. You may also simply want to maintain your strength and keep doing the activities you enjoy.

The classes provide a welcoming environment where you can exercise safely under the guidance of a Chartered Physiotherapist. You do not need previous exercise experience, and beginners are welcome.

It may be suitable if you:
  • Have hip or knee osteoarthritis
  • Experience hip or knee joint pain
  • Find certain everyday activities more difficult
  • Want to build confidence with movement and exercise
  • Would like practical information about managing your condition
  • Are looking for a structured exercise-and-education approach

An initial conversation and assessment can help determine whether the programme is appropriate for you.

Express your interest

Local dates and availability may change. If you would like to learn more about GLA® Ireland or express an interest in a future programme, please contact me.

1:1 PHYSIOTHERAPY

INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT
Physiotherapy centred on you.

Individual physiotherapy gives us time to look closely at what you are experiencing, how it affects your everyday life and what you would like to achieve.

I begin by listening to your concerns and understanding what matters to you. I can then assess your movement and work with you to agree on an appropriate plan.

Your plan will be based on your individual needs, abilities and goals rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

Individual physiotherapy may help if you:
  • Have pain, an injury or reduced mobility
  • Are preparing for surgery
  • Are recovering after surgery, illness or a hospital stay
  • Have lost confidence in everyday movement
  • Want help improving strength, balance or walking
  • Need support returning to meaningful activities
  • Would benefit from an individual assessment and exercise plan

Depending on your needs, we may work on movement, strength, balance, walking patterns or practical activities such as using stairs, getting in and out of a chair or moving more confidently around your home.

Physiotherapy home visits

I also offer physiotherapy home visits for people who may find it difficult to attend an appointment elsewhere or who would benefit from being assessed in their own environment.

A home visit can allow us to look at the movements and activities that are important in your daily life. This could include:

  • Walking safely around your home
  • Balance and reaching
  • Getting in and out of a chair or bed
  • Managing stairs
  • Getting in and out of a car
  • Rebuilding strength and confidence
  • Creating an exercise programme suited to your home

Please contact me to discuss whether a home visit would be suitable and available in your area.

Alongside exercise, the classes offer encouragement, social connection and an opportunity to enjoy movement in a safe, positive environment.

If you are unsure whether a class would suit you, please contact me before booking.

HYDROTHERAPY

IN DEVELOPMENT
Discover the possibilities of movement in water.

I am currently developing hydrotherapy as part of my physiotherapy service. It is not yet presented as a regularly bookable service, but you are welcome to contact me if you would like to learn more or express an interest.

Hydrotherapy uses exercise and movement in warm water. The buoyancy of the water reduces the load placed on the body, while the water can also provide gentle resistance for strengthening and movement.

Hydrotherapy may offer a supportive environment for:
  • Moving with less load on painful joints
  • Improving strength and mobility
  • Working on balance and coordination
  • Building confidence with movement
  • Rehabilitation following surgery or reduced activity
  • Complementing land-based physiotherapy

You do not necessarily need to be a confident swimmer to take part in appropriately supervised hydrotherapy. Suitability would always need to be considered before beginning.

Express your interest

The format, location and availability of this service are still being developed. If you would like to receive more information when it becomes available, please contact me.

Alongside exercise, the classes offer encouragement, social connection and an opportunity to enjoy movement in a safe, positive environment.

If you are unsure whether a class would suit you, please contact me before booking.

LOOKING FOR SOMETHING ELSE?

The support I provide may continue to develop in response to the needs of the people and communities I work with.

You are also welcome to ask me about areas such as:

  • Better Bone Health exercise

  • Lower-back-pain support

  • Falls-prevention education

  • Holistic or sports massage

  • Rehabilitation following illness or surgery

  • Other strength, mobility or movement concerns

Not every service is available at all times. Please contact me to ask what is currently available and whether it may be appropriate for you.
